How others have helped

 

Peter Morgan, Jane Wilson, Lisa and Rob Sharp ran together for the first time recently in the Liverpool Half Marathon and raised a wonderful £1,000.  Peter and Rob work together at Platt Morgan & Partners in Rainhill, Jane is a midwife at Liverpool Women's Hospital and Lisa a busy mum of three.

Peter said, "Cancer has affected most people's lives in some way, so anything that you do to try and help to raise funds to prevent it has to be worth doing.  That's why we put ourselves through all the training to compete at this great event."  Thanks, team, for a fanatastic effort!

 

   

 

Happy revellers seen at the Cancer and Polio Research Fund Summer Ball held at Formby Hall Golf Club recently.  One hundred supporters enjoyed an evening of dinner and dance with live entertainment and disco, and in the process raised a fantastic £7,000.  To everyone there, thank you so much for coming - hope to see you again next year!

 

 

 

Our fundraising support group in Wetherby has been going great guns, with coffee mornings and lunch parties, Burns Night suppers and market stalls, marmalade sales and craft days.  To date they have raised an amazing £1,250.  Margaret Milne, Diane Middleton, Mary Hare (seen left to right) and Jennifer Wormald are long-term charity supporters, some with personal experience of cancer.  Thank you, ladies, for all your hard work and everyone else for supporting them.
